   The Enugu State Government has trained civil servants in the state on digital skills to boost workflow, efficiency, and productivity for workers between the ages of 21 to 45 years. The government began implementing the Digital Skill Nigeria (DSN) programme as part of the measures to digitize the Enugu civil service, equip workers with modern skills like their counterparts in developed countries, and institute e-governance infrastructure in the state. The programme, a collaboration between the Enugu State government, Microsoft, the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, and Tech4Dev, in the first batch that lasted for two weeks, trained at least 2,000 federal, state, and local government civil servants in the Enugu, with the state government poised to train as many as 10,000 civil servants in the state by the end of the last quarter of 2024. Some suspected bandits have killed the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto State, Prof. Yusuf Saidu. Four suspected killers of a retired Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army, and national chairman of retired members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Brig. Gen. Harold Uwem Udokwere, have been arrested by the police. The federal capital territory (FCT) police command confirmed the arrest of the suspects, who have confessed to the killing of the retired Army General at his Abuja residence Saturday morning. The suspects reportedly killed Udokwere on Saturday morning at an estate in the nation’s capital with a knife. Addressing a press briefing on Monday, Benneth Igweh, FCT police commissioner, said two of the suspects are at large. The arrested suspects include Ibrahim Rabiu, 33; Nafiu Jamil, 33; Aliyu Abdullahi, 47; and Mohammed Nuhu, 28. Igweh said the command also arrested kidnappers terrorising the FCT.    Blaise Felix Aliyu, a student of the Air Force Comprehensive School, Kaduna, has been punished to death by two of his senior colleagues. Aliyu, an orphan, who lost his parents in 2013, is said to be survived by his twin brother, who is also a student at the military boarding school, located in Mando, Kaduna.Two SS3 students reportedly summoned the 15-year-old to their room under the pretext of punishing him but ended up killing him. The deceased body has been deposited in the mortuary. Reacting to the development, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, spokesperson for the Nigerian Airforce (NAF), expressed the institution’s sorrow. Suspected Kidnap Gang Members Nabbed With N11 Million Naira Ransom

Three suspected members of a notorious kidnap gang were apprehended by the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards in Otukpo town, Otukpo Local Government Area (LGA). The suspects were arrested on Monday while attempting to flee with N11 million Naira, believed to be ransom money collected from their recent victims. Eyewitnesses in Otukpo reported that the gang members were intercepted at the Otukpo motor park as they tried to board a bus to Makurdi, the state capital. Their apprehension followed a tip-off to the Community Volunteer Guards, who swiftly moved to the scene and detained the suspects. "They were arrested after information got to the Community Volunteer Guards from Otukpo Motor Park, where they were trying to board a vehicle to Makurdi," an eyewitness disclosed. "The Guards immediately moved to the scene and had them arrested. They were searched, and some money, suspected to be the ransom received from their victims, was recovered from them." Following th
