Enugu State Gaming Conference 2024: Gov Peter Mbah Highlights the Transformative Potentials of Gaming Industry


The Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission hosted the highly anticipated Enugu State Gaming Conference 2024 today, June 27th, 2024. Themed "Exploring the Future of Gaming: Innovations and Collaborations," the event brought together key stakeholders, industry experts, and enthusiasts to discuss the evolving landscape of the gaming industry and its potential impact on the state's economy.

Representing the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Deputy Governor His Excellency Barr Ifeanyi Ossai, delivered an inspiring keynote address, highlighting the transformative potential of the gaming industry. “The landscape of gaming has changed significantly over the years, especially with the introduction of trends such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and blockchain integration, making gaming platforms easier to access and improving gaming experiences,” he stated.

The Deputy Governor emphasized the economic opportunities that the gaming industry presents, noting its capacity to drive economic growth and development. “The gaming industry has also shown the capacity to improve our economy, and as a state, we will explore our local gaming ecosystem for the creation of economic value while promoting responsible gaming practices,” he added.

The conference served as a platform for sharing knowledge and expertise, fostering a community-driven approach to advancing the gaming industry in Enugu State. Panels and discussions focused on the latest innovations and collaborations in the gaming world, addressing both opportunities and challenges.Key sessions included Innovative Technologies in Gaming, a session explored the integration of augmented reality, virtual reality, and blockchain technology in gaming, highlighting how these innovations are enhancing user experiences and expanding market reach.

Experts discussed the economic potential of the gaming industry, showcasing case studies and strategies for leveraging gaming to boost the local economy, emphasizing the importance of responsible gaming, this session addressed regulatory measures, community engagement, and the role of stakeholders in promoting safe and ethical gaming practices. Industry leaders shared insights on building partnerships and collaborations with the Enugu State Government to drive growth and innovation in the gaming sector.

The Deputy Governor, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai praised the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission for organizing the conference. while thanking all participants for their contributions, he said  “I commend the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission, the regulators, and all stakeholders for hosting the conference, and I look forward to what lies ahead in the dynamic world of gaming,”.
