Enugu State has opened applications for 20,000 free certified training opportunities under the iDICE Skill-to-Job Training Programme, providing young people across the state’s 17 Local Government Areas with pathways to employment, income generation and entrepreneurship.
The initiative is designed to equip Enugu youths with practical, market-oriented skills that can translate beyond classroom learning into actual economic opportunities, with participants able to choose from three major training pathways.
Under the Digital and Online Skills pathway, participants can train in areas including Business Process Outsourcing and Customer Experience, Virtual Assistance, Digital Marketing, Data, IT Support, Software and other digital services.
The Applied Technology and Trades pathway focuses on practical and creative sectors, offering opportunities in Animation and Creative Production, Fashion, Leather and Footwear, Automotive, Solar and Green Technology, as well as other technical skills.
For those interested in building and expanding businesses, the Business and Entrepreneurship pathway provides training in Business Development, Financial Management, Sales, Digital Commerce, Market Access and Enterprise Management.
The programme is open to a broad range of young people, including students, graduates, job seekers, creatives, artisans and existing entrepreneurs, making the 20,000 slots accessible to youths with different educational, professional and entrepreneurial backgrounds.
With the training spread across all 17 LGAs, the programme is positioned to extend skills development and economic opportunities beyond Enugu metropolis and into communities across the state.
The initiative also places emphasis on the connection between skills acquisition and economic outcomes, encouraging prospective participants to pursue training that can lead to a job, generate income or provide the foundation for starting and growing a business.
