The Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Barr. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Senator-Elect for Enugu North Senatorial District, Chief Ikeje Israel Asogwa, following his resounding victory in the just concluded bye-election.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the Government and the good people of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Barr. Ukwueze described Chief Asogwa's emergence as a clear testament to the confidence, trust and overwhelming support he enjoys across the Senatorial District.
According to the Council Chairman, the official declaration of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which saw the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate secure a landslide victory with a total of 162,360 votes against candidates of other political parties, reflects the electorate's belief in his capacity, competence and commitment to public service.
"On behalf of the Government and the good people of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, I heartily congratulate our brilliant son, Chief Ikeje Israel Asogwa, on his well-deserved victory in the Enugu North Senatorial District Bye-Election. This resounding mandate is a reflection of the confidence reposed in his capacity, competence and commitment to the service of our people. Indeed, res ipsa loquitur," he stated.
Barr. Ukwueze further commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for what he described as a remarkable demonstration of equity, fairness and inclusive leadership. He noted that the Governor's support for the emergence of another capable son of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area to complete the tenure of the late Senator Okey Ezea, who died while in active service, underscores his administration's commitment to justice and balanced representation.
The Council Chairman also expressed profound appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, supporters and the entire people of Enugu North Senatorial District for their collective efforts, unity of purpose and active participation throughout the electoral process, which culminated in the victory of the Senator-Elect.
While wishing Chief Asogwa a successful and impactful tenure, Barr. Ukwueze expressed confidence that the Senator-Elect would provide effective representation and contribute significantly to the continued growth, development and prosperity of Enugu North Senatorial District.
