Gov. Mbah Enjoys Massive Grassroots Support as G-17 Storms Aninri, Deepens Mobilisation Drive Ahead 2027
A major political mobilisation milestone was recorded in Aninri Local Government Area on Friday, June 12, 2026, as the grassroots political movement, G-17 For Peter Mbah, carried out a massive inauguration of its Local Government and Ward Executives in a well-attended ceremony held at the Local Government Lodge, Aninri Local Government Secretariat.
The event attracted political stakeholders, party leaders, community leaders, women groups, youth representatives, and supporters from across the local government area, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to the re-election of the Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
A major highlight of the occasion was the official signing of the G-17 Endorsement Register by the Executive Chairman of Aninri Local Government Area, Prince Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, who openly declared his support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's continued leadership and pledged to work with the G-17 structure to deepen grassroots mobilisation throughout the council area.
Addressing the newly inaugurated executives and party faithful, Prince Nwanjoku described G-17 as the most vibrant grassroots mobilisation group in Enugu State, noting that its structure and reach across communities have made it a formidable force in grassroots politics.
The council chairman assured the gathering that Aninri would play a leading role in ensuring the victory of Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
According to him, the achievements of Governor Mbah's administration across various sectors have earned him the confidence and support of the people, making the task of mobilisation easier for party faithful and support groups.
Also speaking at the event, the Member representing Aninri Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Magnus Edeh, pledged his full support for the activities and objectives of G-17 For Peter Mbah.
He described the organisation as the number one grassroots mobilisation platform in Enugu State and commended its leadership for identifying and bringing together stakeholders who had previously been left out of political engagements.
Hon. Edeh expressed surprise at the group's ability to reconnect with forgotten political actors and community leaders, stating that such inclusiveness would further strengthen the political structure ahead of future elections.
In her remarks, the APC Vice Chairman of Aninri Local Government Council assured the gathering that the party would work closely with G-17 to ensure the successful delivery of Governor Peter Mbah's mandate in 2027.
She commended the governor's development initiatives across the state, noting that communities in Aninri have witnessed tangible improvements through infrastructure, education, healthcare, and rural development projects executed under the current administration.
Delivering the keynote address, the Convener, Board of Trustees Chairman, and Director-General of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, thanked the council chairman for fostering peace and unity among political stakeholders in Aninri.
He praised Prince Nwanjoku for bringing together previously divided political interests and creating a united front capable of advancing the development agenda of both the state and the local government.
Dr. Mbah also commended the chairman's infrastructural development efforts across the local government area, describing them as people-oriented and impactful.
"From what I have seen today, Aninri is APC from top to bottom," he declared to loud cheers from supporters.
The G-17 Director-General urged the newly inaugurated executives to immediately commence aggressive door-to-door sensitisation campaigns, educating residents on the achievements of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the importance of continuity in governance.
He disclosed that the governor has invested over ₦20 billion in projects across Aninri Local Government Area alone, citing the establishment of 10 Smart Green Schools, 10 Type-C Primary Healthcare Centres, the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads, and several other critical infrastructure projects.
According to him, each political ward in Aninri has benefited from projects worth over ₦2 billion, a development he described as unprecedented in Nigeria's democratic history.
"Each ward has benefited enormously from this administration. This has never happened in any state in Nigeria. Aninri has every reason to support Governor Peter Mbah because the dividends of democracy are visible everywhere," he stated.
Dr. Mbah further insisted that the people of Aninri must deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
"The President, the Governor, and all APC candidates must be delivered from top to bottom in Aninri Local Government Area," he concluded.
Addressing women at the gathering, the National Women Leader of G-17 For Peter Mbah, Hon. Princess Chinelo Ogbata Ejorh, called on women across the local government to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts and ensure wider participation in the electoral process.
She noted that many of the developmental projects executed by Governor Mbah, particularly in healthcare and education, directly benefit women and children, urging them to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and actively support the governor's re-election bid.
Earlier in his welcome address, the G-17 Coordinator for Aninri Local Government Area, Prince Obinna Nwanjoku, welcomed guests and stakeholders to the inauguration ceremony and expressed gratitude to the Convener and leadership of G-17 for extending the mobilisation structure to Aninri.
He assured the leadership of the organisation that the newly inaugurated executives would remain committed to the vision and objectives of G-17 while working tirelessly to mobilise support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah across all wards and communities in the local government area.
The inauguration of the Aninri Local Government and Ward Executives is regarded as another significant step in the ongoing expansion of G-17's statewide grassroots mobilisation network, further consolidating its presence across the seventeen local government areas of Enugu State as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
