2026 IWD: Enugu First Lady Mrs Nkechinyere Mbah Hailed by Wife Of Igbo-Eze South Council Chairman, For Supporting, Inspiring Women Across the State


The Wife of the Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Barr. Empress Ugo-Ferdinand, has poured encomiums on the First Lady of Enugu State, Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, for her outstanding humanitarian services and compassionate leadership through the Custos Care Foundation.

Barr. Ugo-Ferdinand gave the commendation while congratulating the First Lady on the successful activities marking the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration in Enugu, where the foundation reached out to thousands of women through a large-scale free medical outreach and empowerment support.

The humanitarian intervention, which took place at Michael Okpara Square in Enugu, saw women from across the state benefit from free medical screening, consultations, medications, and eye care services, with hundreds of eyeglasses distributed to those with vision challenges.

Beyond healthcare services, the First Lady also extended cash gifts to women leaders across the state as part of efforts to support and strengthen grassroots mobilisation among women.

Barr. Ugo-Ferdinand described the gesture as a clear demonstration of Mrs. Mbah’s deep commitment to the welfare, health, and empowerment of women, noting that her humanitarian programmes have continued to touch lives across communities in Enugu State.

According to her, the First Lady has distinguished herself as a compassionate leader whose initiatives reflect genuine love for the people, particularly women and vulnerable groups.

She further commended Mrs. Mbah’s leadership qualities, stating that through her vision and dedication, women across Enugu State are being united, supported, and inspired with a renewed sense of hope and belonging.

The Igbo-Eze South Chairman’s wife emphasised that the initiatives of the Custos Care Foundation have become a powerful platform for social impact, providing healthcare support, empowerment opportunities, and humanitarian assistance to many families.

She noted that the First Lady’s ability to combine compassion with purposeful leadership has helped strengthen women’s participation in community development while promoting a culture of care and solidarity across the state.

Barr. Ugo-Ferdinand also expressed optimism that the First Lady’s vision for a healthier, more inclusive, and empowered society will continue to flourish in the years ahead.
