The Stakeholders of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area on Wednesday gathered at Hon. Augustine Nnamani Complex, the Council's new Secretariat, to mark the 100 days in office of the Council Chairman, Hon. Obiora Obeagu.
The Isi-Uzo Council Chairman used the event as a platform to brief the good people of Isi-Uzo on the programmes and journey of his administration so far within 100 days in office. The Chairman also held a Town Hall meeting with Isi-Uzo people, with many stakeholders expressing their appreciation and expectations from the Obiora Obeagu led administration in Isi-Uzo.
In his address, the Council Chairman, Hon. Obeagu noted that the event was in line with the promises he made to Isi-Uzo people that he would run an open, transparent and all-inclusive government that accommodates everyone and engenders the participation of everyone in the governance activities of his administration in Isi-Uzo LGA.
Hon. Obiora Obeagu took time to reel out their administration's achievements so far, within 100 days, in line with their campaign promises to Ndi Isi-Uzo, which centers on the SECURITY mantra.
As regards Security, the Isi-Uzo Council Chair explained that he has always prioritised security and welfare of Isi-Uzo residents as these are the primary reason they exist as a government. He said that he established several security zones across the border communities and entry points to Isi-Uzo as well as recruited an array of special squads, procured security equipment; security motorbikes, communication gadgets, surveillance drones, among others, to help check banditry, kidnapping and other criminalities. Hon. Obiora Obeagu also deployed special security forces to Isi-Uzo with APC's for special security operations. Obiora has, in addition, personally led special security operations across Isi-Uzo, signifying his passion and commitment to the security and well-being of his people.
Barr. Obiora Obeagu has also equipped the halls and offices of the two storey new Isi-Uzo Ultra modern Secretariat, an edifice, which he built during his first tenure in office. The complex, which is being used for events is saving money for and set to generate more revenue for the Council.
In the area of health, Hon. Obiora Obeagu completed the reconstruction and remodelling of Isi-Uzo Headquarters Clinic within 12 days. The Clinic is already being used for surgeries and attending to various health cases. The first baby of the clinic was also delivered there *on... December*
Hon. Obiora Obeagu led administration also carried out a massive free to medical outreach driven by the Isi-Uzo Free Medical Outreach Committee in partnership with the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, Esut Park lane teaching hospital and Nemel Pharmaceutical Company Company on 30th November, 2024, where about 2, 000 Isi-Uzo residents benefitted from hernia, eye, vurginoplasty, fibroid surgeries, free medical screening and distribution of free drugs. Some people with
critical health challenges were referred to Parklane like guittar, lumps and complicated surgical cases were referred to Esut Parklane Teaching hospital and external external consultants to be treated at the Council's expense. The Chairman informed Isi-Uzo stakeholders that his administration is preparing for the first next phase of the Free Medical Outreach.
Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria said that the Isi-Uzo Free Medical Outreach was their best in Enugu State so far.
Hon. Obiora Obeagu informed Isi-Uzo stakeholders that the Remodeling, expansion and reconstruction of the Chairman's Quarters is almost completed and would soon be commissioned and put to use for the benefit of Isi-Uzo people.
In the area of education, Obiora Obeagu hosted Isi-Uzo teachers to mark the World Teachers day. Outstanding teachers received awards and all the teachers in attendance were rewarded as a gesture to encourage teachers, stir competition and increase their capacities to deliver quality education to our disadvantaged pupils and children at the local level.

Ebe Umu Ogiri Concrete Bridge, which the Isi-Uzo Council Chairman flagged off on December 7th, 2024.
Rural Electricity Intervention projects which restored light to Umualor Community that has been without light for about 3 years.
Electricity intervention project which restored light to Ihenyi Agarama Community, Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo LGA.
Procurement of High quality drones for security operations and training of neighbourhood watch men on the use of technology to fight insecurity in Isi-Uzo.
Procurements of Security Motorbikes and other security gadgets to ease and aid security operations in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.
Tomorrow Is Here Initiative Short-Term Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training, where Youths from Isi-Uzo were trained in different areas of enterprise.
Ongoing construction work on the about 3.8km Mgbuji - Eha-Ohuala Asphalt road, with drainages and culverts.
Stakeholders; former Council Chairmen, Council of Isi-Uzo Traditional Rulers, the Isi-Uzo Legislative Council, PDP Party Chairman Isi-Uzo LGA, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Representative of Personscwith Disabilities PWDs) in Isi-Uzo, among others, from across Isi-Uzo; Eha-Amufu to Ikem down to Neke and up to Mbu and Umualor congratulated Hon. Obiora Obeagu on his 100 days in Office and his achievements so far. They variously hailed Obiora Obeagu on the magnificent two storey Secretartariat Complex he built in his first tenure and said they are confident the Chairman would achieve more given his track records. They committed to support, unite and join hands with Hon. Obiora Obeagu to move Isi-Uzo forward.
Isi-Uzo Stakeholders and Royal fathers thanked Governor Peter Mbah for the Smart Green School projects, Type 2 Primary Health Care centres, across the 11 wards of the Council Area, the 40k Owo-Ubahu-Amankanu-Ikem Dual Carriageway, which is also ongoing from Ikem, Isi-Uzo axis.
Hon. Obiora Obeagu also thanked Governor Peter Mbah for the 21.7km Asphalt road, which is about 100 per cent completed.
Hon. Obiora Obeagu noted that he was bold and optimistic about the progress and development of Isi-Uzo because of these critical infrastructural projects that will open up the economic corridors of Isi-Uzo and vowed to sustain partnership with the Governor Peter Mbah administration to accomplish these projects.
In just 100 days in Office, Barr Obiora Obeagu has shown that he is a focused leader and has demonstrated commitment and capacity to deliver on his vision, mandate and determination to move Isi-Uzo from Rural to Semi Urban Council.
