The Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Ogbodo, has joined in commending Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his unwavering commitment to infrastructure development across Enugu State. Speaking at the flag-off event on Wednesday, 30th October 2024, Hon. Ogbodo praised the governor for delivering on his campaign promises, particularly in areas that had long been overlooked.
Hon. Ogbodo expressed his gratitude to the governor, acknowledging the significant impact these road projects will have on the community and beyond. “Your Excellency, the doubting Thomases who questioned the feasibility of your promises can now see the results,” he remarked, emphasizing how Governor Mbah’s dedication has already started transforming lives. According to Hon. Ogbodo, the governor's vision for connecting communities and enhancing accessibility has brought tangible results to both Nkanu West and Nkanu East, along with neighboring communities.
The road projects, covering a total of 78.85 kilometers, include key routes that will open up rural communities to broader opportunities. At Amodu in Nkanu West LGA, Governor Mbah led the groundbreaking for the construction of several critical roads, including the 9.30km Amodu-Akpugo Road, the 5km Amagu-Atakwu-Akegbe Ugwu-Akpasha Road, and the 3.12km Obuofia-Obeagu-Akegbe Ugwu Road, totaling 17.32 kilometers in Nkanu West alone. Hon. Ogbodo noted that these roads will serve as crucial links, improving accessibility, connectivity, and ultimately spurring economic growth.
“The governor’s commitment to rural development will be a game-changer for agricultural producers in these areas. With these roads, farmers and buyers will finally have reliable routes to transport goods, which will boost agricultural output and commercial activities across the region,” Hon. Ogbodo explained, underscoring how the projects are aligned with the state’s vision for economic revitalization.
He also pointed out the governor’s remarkable visibility on the national stage. “Each time we turn on the news, we see praise for the work being done here in Enugu State. The entire nation is taking notice of your leadership, Your Excellency,” he added, highlighting how Governor Mbah's achievements are bringing pride to Enugu and setting a new standard for effective governance.
