BREAKING: Police Neutralize Six Gunmen, Recover Firearms




In a successful outing aimed at tackling insecurity on Friday, 1st October 2024, the police operatives in Bauchi State have neutralized six suspected bandits and seized a large cache of firearms after a violent encounter in Ningi Local Government Area. The operation, which showcased the police's commitment to maintaining law and order, was led by Ningi Division operatives, with the support of local security personnel.

The Commissioner of Police for Bauchi State, CP Auwal Mohammed, detailed the successful operation at a press briefing held at the command's headquarters. Among the firearms recovered were AK-49 rifles, a Dane gun, locally fabricated weapons, a single-barrel gun, 14 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and three magazines.


This victory against criminal elements was further bolstered by the arrest of a 42-year-old suspect, Abdullahi Ibrahim, who was found with two AK-47 rifles. During interrogation, Ibrahim revealed that he had purchased the weapons from his uncle for N250,000, allegedly to protect their cattle from theft. In addition to the rifles, the police seized 343 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and a magazine from him. CP Mohammed confirmed that Ibrahim would be formally charged in court upon completion of the investigation.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents in Bauchi State.
