The Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of Professor Gozies S. Ogbodo as the new Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu. Professor Ogbodo’s appointment took effect immediately on 1st November 2024, signaling a new chapter for the institution. He succeeds Dr. Emeka Patrick Ejim, who served as Acting Rector since June 10, 2024.
Professor Ogbodo brings to IMT a distinguished career in legal academia and administration. A professor of Law, his specialization spans Environmental and Energy Law, fields in which he has gained notable expertise and recognition. He previously served at the University of Benin as a Professor of Law before moving to Godfrey Okoye University. At Godfrey Okoye University, he held key leadership roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Law and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
Widely respected for his scholarship and management skills, Prof. Ogbodo has authored numerous publications, contributing significantly to academic discourse in his fields of expertise. His appointment has been met with optimism by the IMT community, who look forward to the progressive reforms and visionary leadership he is expected to bring.
Upon assuming office today, Prof. Ogbodo held an introductory meeting with the IMT Management team, expressing gratitude for their ongoing efforts to maintain stability and growth during the transitional period.
