The Executive Chairman of Igboeze South Local Government Area, Barr. Ugo Ferdinand, has approved the completion of the long-abandoned Council Secretariat, known as the Enejere Building. This significant development marks a renewed commitment to upgrading key infrastructure across the local government area.
On the 14th of October 2024, Ferdinand confirmed the approval of the project, which will be executed in three distinct phases: the main building, the compound, and the access routes. The first phase is expected to be completed within the next three months, with subsequent phases to follow shortly after.
The project’s completion is expected to transform the neglected structure into an ultramodern secretariat that will serve as a hub for local government administration. This effort aligns with Ferdinand’s broader agenda to revitalize moribund facilities and enhance the overall infrastructure within Igboeze South LGA.
Ferdinand emphasized that his administration is committed to working around the clock to ensure these projects are completed efficiently, with a strong focus on meeting the needs of the community. This initiative is seen as a positive step towards improving public service delivery and fostering local development.
Enugupress.ng also reports that the council is ready to tackle other infrastructural challenges across the area to improve the living conditions of its residents. The approval of this secretariat project underscores Ferdinand's determination to leave a lasting legacy of growth and modernization in Igboeze South.
