Hon Sydney Edeh Calls for Collaborative Efforts To Tackle Insecurity in Nkanu East



Nkanu East Local Government council chairman, Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh has called for collaborative efforts and support from community leaders, security agencies and other stakeholders to tackle insecurity in Nkanu East. 
 
 The council chairman stated this at security council meeting held at the LGA headquarters on Monday 14th, October 2024 with security agents, community leaders and other stakeholders in the area.
According to him, until stakeholders especially community leaders prioritize efforts towards curbing security menace in the area, the desired peace and stability may not be achieved. The meeting was summoned to enable me meet, interact with you and collectively fashion out possible ways to end security issues in the area, he stated. 
  
 He urged stakeholders especially community leaders to always scrutinize inhabitants of their communities and monitor their activities as to report suspicious actions to relevant authorities for appropriate actions. We will continue to complement His Excellency Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State in his efforts to make sure that our people go to bed with two eyes closed. Efforts are been made to provide necessary supports to security agencies and also review the activities of neighborhood watch in the area. 
Hon Edeh reiterated  his leadership commitment to eradicate insecurity in Nkanu East by supporting security agencies and community leaders.
  
 The stakeholders in their separate speeches applauded the council chairman for his effort in curbing insecurity in the area and pledged to support his efforts to enhance security of their areas. They commended his pragmatic and proactive approaches. "We have seen your commitment and we will support and partner with you.

The security meeting had in attendance representative of Nigeria police, civil defence,DSS traditional rulers, Town Union presidents and other stakeholders.
