October One holds a special place in our hearts, marking the day when Nigeria triumphed over colonial rule in 1960, thanks to the unwavering dedication of our national heroes. As we celebrate this milestone, we acknowledge the challenges that persist, including corruption, regional divisions, religious tensions, and security threats. However, in Enugu State, under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, a transformative vision is being realized.
With a commitment to innovation, education, and progress, Enugu State is poised for a brighter future, and we stand united to support this journey towards a new, purposeful Enugu State.

Today's is Nigeria's Independence Day. The Ministry of Information and Communication Enugu State joins the governor of Enugu State His Excellency Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to salute our country and her citizens in this very remarkable day.
October One has become a very important day in Nigeria since the country gained independence from her colonial masters in 1960. The struggle for independence was hard won. Nigerian Nationalists such as Nnamdi Azikiwe, Herbert Macually, Ahmadu Bello, Anthony Enahoro, Muokwugo Okoye and others had bitter struggle against colonial administration to secure independence for the nation.
After all these years, the nation Nigeria remains strong but continually threatened by corruption, regional divisiveness, religious bigotry and insecurity. The result is underdevelopment, unpatriotic tendencies and unproductivity.
In Enugu State, there is a disruption for a better society. Dr. Peter Mbah won election to initiate distributive innovation to place the state as one of top three states in the Federation. With some some policy landmarks of the current administration, the effect has began to be noticed. After over twenty years of dearth of water in Enugu, the essential commodity had become available in fulfillment of His Excellency's campaign promise to provide water in 180 days on assumption of office.
We rejoice with his Excellency on this day
as we welcome investments and friends from across the globe to our dear state. With Dr. Peter Mbah, the governor, there is a determination to bring back the lost glory of our people and place. Education is a cardinal point of change towards our neo independence from poverty, underdevelopment and backwardness. We can move into the future behind the man who is convinced Tomorrow is Here. We can only support our government for a better tomorrow.
Our country is ours to develop, our state is ours to cherish. Let's stand behind Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah to create a new, progressive and purposeful Enugu state.
