The Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism played host to a delegation from the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter. The delegation, led by the State Chairman, Comrade Brown Eneh, embarked on a courtesy visit aimed at fostering a collaborative partnership to rejuvenate Enugu State as a thriving Nollywood hub.
During the meeting, Comr. Brown Eneh emphasized the importance of repositioning Enugu State as a prominent destination for Nollywood productions. He presented the challenges faced by the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, and highlighted key requirements, including the establishment of a dedicated film village and improved security measures.
In response to the delegation's concerns, Honorable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dame Ugochi Madueke, expressed unwavering support for their endeavors. She underscored the commitment of the Enugu State government, led by Governor Barr. Peter Mbah, to the development of the film industry. Notably, Governor Mbah had prominently featured Nollywood and filmmakers in his manifesto, affirming the government's dedication to the cause.
Commissioner Madueke declared that the establishment of a film village in Enugu State was a non-negotiable priority. She assured the delegation that the government would provide all necessary resources and support to make this vision a reality. This collaborative effort between the Enugu State Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, is poised to breathe new life into the local film industry and solidify Enugu's position as a prominent Nollywood hub.
