The trouble with Nigeria, nay Enugu State, remains lack of altruistic leadership. Altruistic leadership or good governance implies charitable management of public trust for the benefit of all irrespective of political, ideological or religious affiliations. The implication of this is that so far we have had leaders who have been unable to unpretentiously deliver good governance to the people.
In Enugu state of today, everything has been politicized. The system has packed poverty and hunger as political instruments like we see in the general economic asphyxiation of SMEs. This system birthed an army of poor people who weep in their closets but must overtly living in pretense over the years. However, the good news for Ndi-Enugu is that in the midst of the array of good, bad and ugly Enugu gubernatorial candidates in the 2023 general elections, a man who has lived the directive principle of state policy even as a private citizen stands out endearingly offering his hands of service in the capacity of governor come 2023 to Ndi-Enugu.
That man is Peter Ndubuisi Mbah! For over a decade, Mbah has poured himself out like libations to enable less-priviledged Ndi-Enugu migrate to better and dignified living. He built many houses for a good number of households. He completely renovated and rehabilitated a good number of public schools both primary and secondary as well as building and equipping an ultramodern community cottage hospital for his hometown in Owo, Nkanu East LGA. Dr. Mbah also built and donated a law faculty to Godfrey Okoye University, Thinkers Corner, Enugu. Uncountable number of people enjoy his local and international scholarships. Many entrepreneurs were mentored and funded by him to start business and enjoy economic independence. Mbah's free healthcare programmes have saved legions of Ndi-Enugu from the throes of death. That Dr. Mbah bequeathed all these indices of good governance to Ndi-Enugu as a private citizen makes him the leader and governor that Ndi-Enugu need in 2023.
Dr. Mbah is a divine donation designed to set Enugu State and her people on the trajectory of sustainable comprehensive development and prosperity. This grass-to grace route is familiar to Mbah who was not born with even a wooden spoon but has attained prosperity and greatness in the class of diamond through God's graces and hard work.
As Peter Mbah stretches his bloodless and violence-free hand of service and compassion to Ndi-Enugu from the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in his capacity as Enugu 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the party, I charge Ndi-Enugu to jump at that democratically profitable offer. That all the 2023 Enugu State gubernatorial candidates including careers in public offices are promising to do for Ndi-Enugu the things Dr. Mbah has been doing for over a decade now proves that Mbah is not only the panacea for the good governance challenge in Enugu State but he is also the reference point and personification of good governance.
