As the 2023 governorship election draws nigh, divers voices in Enugu State; women organizations, youth groups, the religious bodies and other initiatives, weekend, reaffirmed support for the philanthropist and business mogul, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in the governorship race in the state, describing him as the most outstanding character to govern the state. These groups drummed their support for Dr. Mbah, during a two million man march and religious intercessory prayers held in separate destinations in the state.
They expressed hope that should Mbah win the governorship election in Enugu state, it would usher in a dawn of a new era following his track records of enormous human capital development initiatives. Describing Mbah's acceptance by Ndi-Enugu as a positive indicator of a new beginning in Enugu state, the leader of the 2million man march and the Director General for all support groups for the PDP gubernatorial candidate of the state campaign council, Rt. Hon Ikemba USA Igwesi, stated the people of Enugu state will witness an unprecedented economic development, infrastructures and human empowerment under Dr. Mbah's administration, nothing that time has come for a new administration to change the narrative and bring more hope to the people. He further urged Ndi-Enugu to get ready with their PVCs, to vote for Mbah who he affirmed would industrialize the state with innovative mindset.
He said: "our strong conversation is enough in Enugu state. We cannot be at the river bank and continue to wash our hands with saliva. We see in you a man God is using to restore hope to the hopeless and to wipe away tears from people's eyes and we are saying time has come for someone with a heart of the people to take over the leadership of the state so that the government can begin to make more greater impute for the average Ndi-Enugu.
The Enugu of our dream is one in which the people are proposed, and our children can wake up to brighter tomorrow. Our coming here is not to introduce Dr. Mbah to the people because he has always been part of us. We are not here to list out his achievements and qualities of a persona because they are so many, and in fact, they speak loudly for themselves. Our mission here is to build a partnership with the man God has ordained to lead Enugu to promised land.
Today, we stand with Dr. Mbah as Joshua and Caleb stood with Moses in the bible days and say, no matter what we are capable and we shall be victorious because God is with us. "I therefore, assure you sir that Ndi-Enugu are behind you. Everyone here is equipped and ready to support you till our goal of electing you as our governor is achieved."
On his part, Dr. Mbah stated that he is greatly loved by Ndi-Enugu, assuring them that he would not take for granted this uncommon demonstration of love and acceptance, and will embarrass the state with uncommon transformation in infrastructure, human capital development, agricultural revolution and innovative governance that the state will be very proud of.
However, the religious groups also during the weekend, declared their unflinching support for Mbah's candidacy, declaring that he is most suitably qualified to be governor. They thanked Mbah making himself available this time to respond to the call of Ndi-Enugu to be their governor. Stating that the church will continue to pray for his victory and success at the poll, while recommending his achievements in private sector as a yardstick to measure a candidate is who serious, focused and ready prepared for governance, nothing that other candidates in the race irrespective of their religious background does not posses the character and what it takes to be governor. Therefore, urging those aspirants to withdraw their support for Mbah to move Enugu forward as he has remain the only forthright person saddled with vision, mission and responsibility to deliver the state, the needed economic development.
Giving a charge to the youths and Enugu electorate to vote for Mbah due to his enviable track record, the support groups in their separate recommendations, stated that it was high time for a youth to take over leadership, harping that Dr. Mbah is the best for Enugu state. They said: "Come march 11, all Ndi-Enugu are mandated to go their polling units and vote for Dr. Mbah.
