Since the return of Nigeria to democratic dispensation in 1999, there has never been anyone from Enugu state who has risen finally independent through the ranks and has always been on the positive navigating successes through the private sector to joining partisan politics to cause a change in the system like Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah (Olileanya Ndi-Enugu)
Within the period of 2 to 3 years, Dr. Mbah have had a short service in the government of Enugu state as Chief of Staff and later moved to the ministry of finance where he served metoriously as Commissioner for finance and Economic Development. This great achiever left politics for about 15 solid years to continue with his already existing oil business in the private sector. He was determined to make a name for himself and save Nigeria from the hurdles of spending so much resources on trans-loading the refined products from the high sea. Hence the birth of Pinnacle oil facilities at the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos state of Nigeria.
It is surprising if golden fish like this is engulfed by predators, gladiators and prophets of doom, whose main stock in the business is sheer envy and needless jealousy, who do not mean well for the people? In all the aforementioned political offices he occupied and his imprints in the private sector leading to the high standardization of Pinnacle terminals and oil facilities, Dr. Mbah had never lost any battle. It is obvious that whenever a good and visionary leader becomes intolerant of selfish interests of unpatriotic individuals, he is bound to be crucified by naysayers, arbitrarily attacked, because these people feel offended whenever he makes progress or taunted for programmes initiated in the best interest of the poor masses, because their optimum concern is their personal interest.
These unpatriotic people indulge in, and are engrossed in corruption, nepotism, egotism and all sort of abominable acts to the detriment of the poor masses. They develop hatred and acrimony against anybody who intends to bring changes for the betterment of the citizens. They become obstacles at the threshold of everything success and their devilish intention triggers them to go every extent to ensure that every person that has the masses at heart, is put to disgrace.
Realizing that Dr. Mbah became a beacon of hope and an embodiment of national unity at the nation's oil and gas downstream sector through the establishment of Pinnacle facilities by putting national interest first; these political gladiators became worried and planned to hit him on the ground by doing everything possible to fake stories against the only best nation's indigenous oil facility, which of course, they have all failed with their evil plans.
In 2022, making it exactly 15 years Dr. Mbah left partisan politics for private business in the oil sector, education and other importation, joining Enugu state governorship election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), this rainstorm of attacks and conspiracy did not stop; they went to the extent of fabricating EFCC fake stories, even with series of court cases to paint him black in order to deny him the right to join the 2023 governorship race. All these ungodly plans proved abortive as scaled and finally won the primary election and became the sole gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu state. With his emergence as the candidate and the best projected next political leader in the state after March 11 2023, whose major concern is to bring the state to limelight, as he was and is still adamant in his ideology of putting public interest first; this did not go down well with those unpatriotic politicians, as they had begun to pursue their perpetually uncompromising interest against the public interest. These dubious men are known for their request for slots without due process, contracts under dubious circumstance whenever they find themselves, they had begun to ask Ndi-Enugu in a clanish style for an opportunity to have affluence over night through the state treasury. Dr. Mbah's only crime against these people is that he refused to allow them to inflict their cruelty on the resources of the state by declaring his intentions to govern the state, which invariably has received wide acceptability from Ndi-Enugu.
They closed their eyes on the fact that Dr. Mbah since making his intentions known to govern the state as the next executive governor of Enugu state, he has been on the right track, heading to the right direction. He is still a victim of this terrible people who do not have conscience, people without proper cognitive ability; they still put pressure on frivolous write ups, out of ill will, to make his flesh creep to succumb to their empty threats and to derail his purpose from heading to the promised land, which is lion building where Ndi-Enugu have unanimously approved to send him. With his gubernatorial aspiration under the platform of the PDP, Dr. Peter Mbah have been killed many times, yet he couldn't die by these nefarious enemies of the state, being a God project sent to serve humanity, Dr. Mbah remains untainted and unblemished. These people are now distastefully condescending to falsehood, lies, blackmails and character assasination and useless propagandas, thereby crossing the red lines, in the name of playing politics.
While this is horrible compounded and deeply disgusting, it is, however, arching, stunning and surprising that an ugly situation like this, is winking its uncomely head in Enugu state after having a workaholic personality like Dr. Mbah who has excelled in the private sector and who the good citizens of the state have been dreaming about. I'm happy that Dr. Mbah is conscientious to have always remained steadfast in his determination to achieving his set objectives for the state in accordance with the provisions of the law. A former US President, Abraham Lincoln was quoted as saying "with public sentiment nothing can fail, without it nothing can succeed." He further says "he who molds public sentiment goes deeper than he who execute status or pronounces decision." Dr. Mbah is for the best interest of the public and in conformity with the law, no amount of subjective criticism or conspiracy, blackmail, falsehood or fake propaganda targeted against him can relent him from achieving his well accepted vision for Ndi-Enugu. If Edeoga or Uche Nnaji or even a thousand of them like, let them continue with their normal trade in stock against the people of Enugu state, Dr. Dr. Mbah's election as the next governor of the state is certainly assured and he is governor in waiting. It is highly obvious that in Peter Mbah, Ndi-Enugu, our Tomorrow Is Here.
