…Pledges Commitment to Grassroots Development, Good Governance

Hon. Charles Ilodi, President General of Ihenyi Agarama Autonomous Community, Eha-Amufu, and Former Senior Special Assistant to the Former Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area on WASH, has expressed profound gratitude to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, following his appointment as a constituted member of the Eha-Amufu West Development Centre in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.

Ilodi also extended his appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area, Hon. Brendan Emeka Ani, and other stakeholders across Isi-Uzo whose support and contributions, he acknowledged, played significant roles in making the appointment possible.

The renowned community development and good governance advocate described the appointment as a call to greater service, expressing gratitude to the state government and the leadership of Isi-Uzo for the confidence reposed in him.

He noted that the appointment presented another opportunity to contribute meaningfully to grassroots governance, community mobilisation and the advancement of development initiatives that would improve the welfare of residents within Eha-Amufu West Development Centre and beyond.

Ilodi emphasised that development centres serve as important platforms for bringing governance closer to the people, identifying community needs and ensuring that development interventions reflect the aspirations of the people at the grassroots.

He pledged to bring his experience in community leadership, development advocacy and public service to bear on his new responsibility, with a commitment to promoting collaboration among community leaders, government representatives, traditional institutions, youths, women and other stakeholders.

According to him, sustainable development can only be achieved when communities are actively involved in identifying their priorities, participating in decision-making and taking ownership of projects and programmes designed to improve their lives.

The community leader further stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, inclusiveness and effective collaboration in ensuring that development initiatives produce lasting benefits for the people.

Ilodi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the development vision of the Enugu State Government under Governor Peter Mbah, while expressing readiness to work harmoniously with Hon. Brendan Ani, fellow members of the Development Centre and other relevant stakeholders to advance the collective interests of Isi-Uzo.

He also acknowledged the contributions of those who supported his appointment, describing their encouragement as a responsibility he would seek to justify through dedication, humility and purposeful service.

The newly appointed member called on the people of Eha-Amufu West and the wider Isi-Uzo community to continue supporting initiatives aimed at promoting peace, unity, community participation and sustainable development.

He concluded by expressing optimism that through collective responsibility and effective grassroots engagement, the Eha-Amufu West Development Centre would contribute meaningfully to the development agenda of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area and Enugu State.

*Ilodi reiterated that his appointment would be an opportunity to serve, build partnerships and promote community-driven development for the benefit of the people.*
