The nationwide student engagement initiative championed by the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Students Engagement, Comr. Sunday Asefon Dayo, is gaining momentum, with the successful outcome of the ongoing state-to-state visits to student communities receiving fresh commendation following the warm reception accorded the delegation in Katsina State.
The initiative is designed to strengthen engagement between the Federal Government and Nigerian students and youths, while creating platforms to communicate the achievements, development policies and programmes of President Tinubu’s administration directly to young Nigerians across the country.
Through the engagements, Asefon is seeking to deepen students’ understanding of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, highlight policies affecting their education, welfare and future opportunities, and encourage constructive participation in national development.
The Katsina State engagement represents another important step in the ongoing nationwide outreach, bringing the presidential student engagement initiative closer to young Nigerians and reinforcing the importance of dialogue, information sharing and sustained interaction between government and the student community.
Expressing appreciation for the reception and support received in the state, Asefon thanked students in Katsina for their solidarity and commitment to the shared vision of a brighter future for Nigerian students.
“Katsina State, thank you!” the presidential aide declared, conveying his gratitude to the students for their warm reception and support.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the engagement initiative to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda and promoting a future in which Nigerian students and young people can benefit from meaningful opportunities, improved educational support and policies aimed at national development.
The Katsina visit underscores the importance of taking government policies and achievements directly to campuses and youth communities, allowing students to better understand ongoing reforms, engage with the administration’s priorities and participate in conversations about the country's future.
For Asefon, the state-to-state engagements are also an opportunity to build stronger relationships with student leaders, youth organisations and campus communities, while promoting responsible leadership, patriotism, unity and constructive civic participation.
The initiative places students at the centre of national conversations, recognising their influence as future leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and contributors to Nigeria’s economic and social transformation.
As the nationwide engagements continue, the presidential aide is expected to sustain interactions with students across the states, strengthening the connection between the Tinubu administration and the youth constituency while highlighting policies and programmes intended to improve their prospects.
Reiterating the political message underpinning the initiative, Asefon declared: “Together, we remain committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda and a brighter future for Nigerian students.”
He concluded with the rallying calls, Renewed Hope 2.0” and Asiwaju Till 2031, signalling his continued support for President Tinubu’s agenda and his commitment to sustaining engagement with students and young Nigerians nationwide.
The Katsina engagement therefore marks a significant milestone in the ongoing outreach, with the initiative seeking to transform student engagement into a sustained platform for policy awareness, youth participation and stronger connections between the Federal Government and Nigeria’s student community.
