Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State is set to warmly welcome women from across the state to the 2026 Women’s August Meeting, themed “The Resilient Woman,” in a celebration of womanhood, culture, unity and the enduring strength of Enugu women.
The Udi edition of the annual celebration is being hosted under the leadership of Mrs. Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, Wife of the Enugu State Governor and First Lady of Enugu State, as women across the state come together on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Okpara Square Enugu, to celebrate their shared heritage and contributions to society.
Leading Udi women to the official Flag-Off, Pharm. (Mrs.) Agu Lynda Lotachi, Chairperson of Udi Local Government Area, will receive women and guests to the colourful celebration.
Themed “The Resilient Woman,” this year’s August Meeting is designed to recognise the courage, strength, determination and perseverance of women who continue to make significant contributions to their families, communities and the development of Enugu State.
The Udi celebration provides an opportunity for women to reconnect, celebrate their cultural identity, exchange experiences and strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity that unite Ndi Enugu.
Welcoming women from across Enugu State, Udi LGA said the occasion represents more than a social gathering, but a celebration of the remarkable women whose resilience continues to inspire families and communities.
The event is expected to feature cultural displays, social activities and other programmes celebrating the talents, creativity, enterprise and achievements of women.
The statewide 2026 Enugu Women’s August Meeting Flag-Off, led by Mrs. Mbah, will be held at Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu, while the Udi gathering will provide women of the local government and their guests with an opportunity to celebrate the occasion closer to their communities.
As Udi welcomes women to the celebration, the message of “The Resilient Woman” is expected to resonate throughout the gathering — honouring women who have remained strong through challenges, nurtured families, built communities and contributed to the progress of Enugu State.
The 2026 August Meeting promises to be a vibrant celebration of womanhood, culture, resilience and unity, with Udi LGA joining women across Enugu State in celebrating the strength and invaluable contributions of the Enugu woman.
