As Nigeria’s transition to renewable energy continues to gather momentum, aspiring technicians and entrepreneurs in Enugu State are being offered a timely opportunity to acquire practical solar energy skills and position themselves for emerging jobs and business opportunities.

Through the Enugu Green Tech Training Accelerator (EGTTA), participants can access four months of practical, hands-on training designed to equip them with industry-relevant knowledge in Solar PV design, load calculations, inverter configuration and lithium battery systems.

The training fee has been significantly reduced to ₦100,000, from the original ₦250,000 cost, representing a 60 per cent subsidy for participants.

For aspiring trainees who may find it difficult to make the payment at once, zero-interest Human Capital Development Loan (HCDL) options are also available, providing an alternative pathway to access the training.

The programme is designed not only to teach participants the technical fundamentals of solar installation but also to give them skills they can turn into sustainable livelihoods—whether by securing employment, taking on paid installation projects or establishing their own solar businesses.

With demand for alternative energy solutions continuing to grow, acquiring specialised solar skills could give young people and aspiring entrepreneurs an opportunity to tap into one of the country’s expanding green economy sectors.

Interested applicants can apply through www.enugusme.en.gov.ng/egtta.

Those seeking more information can consult the EGTTA Guide at https://shorturl.at/seZ0W or contact the programme team on 08028545013 or 09128954467. WhatsApp enquiries are available via 09169328543 or 09069200595.

The initiative reflects the broader digital and skills-development drive of the Enugu State Government under Governor Peter Mbah, with emphasis on equipping residents with practical skills capable of translating into employment, entrepreneurship and economic opportunity.

Solar is growing fast. The opportunity is growing with it. For those ready to learn, the time to get skilled is now.
