…Appointments take immediate effect as new aides get portfolios in labour, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, communication, mobilisation and other key areas
ENUGU, August 19, 2026 — Enugu State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has approved the appointment of 23 new Special Advisers (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) as part of his administration’s continued efforts to strengthen governance and deepen coordination across various sectors of the state.
The appointments, contained in a Public Service Announcement signed by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, on Wednesday, comprise nine Special Advisers and 14 Senior Special Assistants with responsibilities spanning labour, agriculture, infrastructure, rural development, investment, tourism, communication, research, mobilisation and public utilities.
Among those appointed as Special Advisers are Hon. Chukwudi Ezinwa, Special Adviser on Labour Union and Association Matters; Hon. Sunday Nnamani (Orlando), Special Adviser on Special Duties; Mr. Williams Chukwu, Special Adviser on Agriculture; and Prince Afam Agana, Special Adviser on Infrastructure Compliance.
Others include Humphrey Onyima, Special Adviser on Investment Strategy and Public Relations; Hon. Tony Ugwu, Special Adviser on Rural Development; Chief Ernest Nweze, Special Adviser on Party Coordination and Mobilisation; Hon. Emeka Onunze, Special Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation; and Mr. Robinson Odo (mni), Special Adviser on Labour and Productivity.
The Governor also appointed Pastor Kenneth Asogwa (Ebube Muonso) as Senior Special Assistant on Heritage and Community Relations, while Pastor Tochukwu Ogbodo was named Senior Special Assistant on Social Engagement.
Other new SSAs are Barr. Lucky Chukwu, Public Affairs; Belonwu Nnaji, Cultural Orientation; Hon. Steve Odo, Tourism; Hon. Francis Ikewette Ede, Public Communication; Mr. Sunny Okafor, General Duties; and Hon. Chinedu Okwu Otaka, Social Orientation and Mobilisation.
Also appointed are Otaba Cosmas Ikechukwu, Protection of Public Utilities; Pius Okeagu, Assets Management; Rt. Hon. Innocent Emeka Ugwu, Inter-Party Affairs; Mrs. Eucharia Offor, Human Resource Management; Mr. Kenneth Oforma, Policy and Communication; and Kelvin Ede, Research and Strategy.
The fresh appointments further expand the team supporting the Mbah administration, bringing individuals with portfolios covering both government operations and strategic engagement with communities, labour groups, political stakeholders and the wider public.
According to the announcement, the appointments take immediate effect.
