Our attention has been drawn to concerns and objections raised regarding a publication titled:
"Chaos in IMT Alumni, As Group Petitions President Agodi Kanu Over Alleged Fund Mismanagement, Abuse of Office."
Following further review, we wish to clarify that the publication was based on allegations and claims made by Integrity Group. We are yet to verify the authenticity, accuracy, or veracity of the allegations contained therein.
In the interest of fairness, justice, responsible journalism, and the preservation of the reputation of all parties concerned, we hereby retract the publication in its entirety pending the outcome of investigations by the relevant authorities and the determination of any competent court of law.
We regret any inconvenience, embarrassment, misunderstanding, or reputational injury that the publication may have caused to Mr. Agodi Kanu, the IMT Alumni Association, its officers, members, stakeholders, and the general public.
For the avoidance of doubt, the allegations contained in the publication remain unproven, and every individual is entitled to the constitutional presumption of innocence until proven otherwise by a court of competent jurisdiction.
We therefore urge members of the public to disregard the publication and refrain from drawing conclusions on the matters raised therein until the relevant authorities conclude their investigations.
