The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Enugu State Chapter, has congratulated Rangers International Football Club of Enugu on its historic emergence as champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), describing the feat as a shining testament to discipline, resilience, teamwork, and the enduring spirit of excellence associated with Enugu State.
In a congratulatory message issued by the association under the leadership of its Chairman, Rtn. Dr. Sunday Okafor, the NMA celebrated the legendary Flying Antelopes for once again bringing pride and honour to the Coal City State and the nation at large.
The association commended the collective efforts of the club's General Manager, Barr. Amobi Ezeaku, the team captain, players, technical crew, management, and the club's loyal supporters, particularly acknowledging the contributions of Dr. Orji Iloakasi, a respected member of the NMA and a leading supporter of the club.
According to the statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of the association, Dr. Ikemefuna Nnamani, the victory reflects the dedication, commitment, and winning mentality that have continued to define Rangers International FC over the years.
The medical body also lauded the Enugu State Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Barr. Lloyd Ekweremadu Jnr., for his exemplary supervisory role and unwavering commitment to sports development, noting that his contributions have played a significant part in the club's recent successes.
While urging the champions to remain focused and continue to embody the indomitable spirit of Enugu, the association charged the team to extend its dominance beyond the national stage by representing both Enugu State and Nigeria with distinction in continental competitions.
The NMA further reserved special commendation for the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, whose administration, it said, has continued to transform the state's sports sector through strategic investments and youth-focused policies.
Describing the Governor's generous reward package for the victorious team as unprecedented, the association praised his decision to present substantial cash gifts and landed properties to the players, management, and technical crew during the grand reception and dinner held in their honour at the Government House.
According to the association, the gesture goes beyond celebrating victory, serving as a powerful source of inspiration for athletes and young people across the state by demonstrating that excellence, hard work, and dedication are duly recognized and rewarded.
The NMA also highlighted the close relationship between sports and healthcare, reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the health, wellness, and optimal performance of athletes, while expressing readiness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders in advancing sports medicine, preventive healthcare, and youth development in Enugu State.
"Once again, congratulations to Rangers International FC. May this triumph mark the beginning of even greater accomplishments on the continental and global stages," the statement concluded.
