The Chairman of the Enugu State Persons with Disabilities Commission, Eze Jude Chuka, has commended the Wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs. Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, for her unwavering commitment to promoting inclusion and advancing the welfare of persons with disabilities across the state.

Speaking as the keynote speaker during the "Her Excellency Celebrates with the Albinos" event organised by the Office of the First Lady in collaboration with the Custos Care Foundation, Eze Chuka expressed profound appreciation to Mrs. Mbah for creating a platform that celebrated persons with albinism while promoting dignity, acceptance, and equal opportunities.

He described the initiative as a clear demonstration of the First Lady's dedication to building a society where every individual, regardless of physical condition or disability, is recognised, respected, and empowered to thrive.

The Commission Chairman particularly applauded the Albino Cluster in Enugu State for its resilience, unity, and invaluable contributions to the disability community, noting that their determination continues to inspire greater advocacy for inclusion.

Addressing members of the disability community, Eze Chuka assured all disability clusters that the Commission has developed comprehensive programmes tailored to their unique needs and aspirations.

According to him, the initiatives will be implemented progressively to ensure that no disability group is left behind in the state's drive towards inclusive development.

"We sincerely appreciate Her Excellency, Mrs. Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah, for this great opportunity and her unwavering commitment. I also commend the Albino Cluster for their resilience, unity, and invaluable contributions to the disability community. The Commission has carefully developed programmes for every disability cluster, and these initiatives will be rolled out progressively. Together, we will continue to build a stronger, more inclusive Enugu," he said.

The event brought together persons with albinism, government officials, disability advocates, and stakeholders in a celebration that highlighted the importance of challenging stereotypes, promoting acceptance, and recognising the abilities and achievements of persons with albinism.

The programme further reinforced the collaborative efforts of the Office of the First Lady, the Custos Care Foundation, and the Enugu State Persons with Disabilities Commission in advancing policies and initiatives that protect the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of persons with disabilities across the state.
