AGUAMEDE COMMUNITY AND IHENYI COMMUNITY are the largest communities in EHA-AMUFU WEST DEVELOPMENT CENTRE and the most shortchanged in political power sharing in Isi-Uzo.
The ongoing discussion on which DEVELOPMENT CENTRE in Isi-Uzo should produce the next Council Chairman seem to have been settled with the emergence of consensus candidates for the national elections; Hon. Augustine Nnamani, from AMANYI DEVELOPMENT CENTRE as APC consensus candidate for the state Assembly position currently occupied by UMUALOR Community.
AND Hon. Barr. Chijioke Edeoga from EHA-AMUFU EAST DEVELOPMENT CENTRE as APC consensus candidate for the House of Representatives, Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency.
As it stands, UMUALOR COMMUNITY in Isi-Uzo CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER is occupying the House of Assembly seat and it will terminate by June 2027 after proclamation by the Governor. Moreso, it is erroneous and misleading for UMUALOR COMMUNITY to keep arguing that they have not produced Chairman when Hon. Dominic Ebeh and Hon. Emmanuel have both served as Caretaker Chairmen.
What about AGUAMEDE and IHENYI AGARAMA COMMUNITIES in Eha-Amufu Ward I and Eha-Amufu Ward IV respectively. Each of the named communities are twice larger than UMUALOR Community in population, yet these communities have not produced Chairman. Now I ask, Where is the justice for AGUAMEDE AND IHENYI COMMUNITIES?
Without sugarcoating of words, the proper DEVELOPMENT CENTRE and community to be considered to produce the next Council chairman is either AGUAMEDE COMMUNITY or IHENYI COMMUNITY.
A true supporter of APC, who wants the party to win elections in Isi-Uzo can not reasonably advocate for UMUALOR COMMUNITY whose son is currently occupying the state Assembly seat to produce the next Council chairman, when larger communities have been without any government position for the past 8 years.
Whoever that is propagating the idea of denying EHA-AMUFU WEST DEVELOPMENT CENTRE the opportunity to produce the next Chairman of Isi-Uzo LGA, is indirectly given opposition parties leverage in Isi-Uzo and of course the tickets holders in APC may become the first victims.
Beyond this arguments and agitations, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, is well informed in this matter and he will definitely take fair and acceptable decision when the time is right, just as he did with the nomination of candidates for national election.
