The colourful ceremony, which also marked the formal induction of new students into the university, was filled with excitement, reflection, and commendation for the institution’s leadership, as students expressed appreciation for what they described as a transformative academic environment under Prof. Emaimo’s watch.
Led by its President, Rt. Comrade Ugwuoti Marius Ikechukwu (popularly known as Mightyark), the SUG commended the Vice Chancellor for fostering a university system anchored on equity, justice, inclusiveness, and mutual respect between students and lecturers.
According to the student leadership, Prof. Emaimo’s administration has demonstrated rare openness to student concerns, creating an academic atmosphere free from intimidation and oppression, while promoting fairness, transparency, and student-friendly policies that continue to redefine the institution’s culture.
They further described the university under his leadership as a model of academic excellence and responsible governance within Nigeria’s tertiary education system, noting that the institution is steadily building a reputation for discipline, innovation, and student empowerment.
As part of the matriculation activities, the Students Union Government also launched the “Green Campus Campaign,” an environmental initiative designed to promote cleanliness, sustainability, and healthy living across the university environment.
To support the campaign, sanitation equipment was officially donated, while student leaders reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining a clean and healthy academic environment, encouraging all students to take ownership of campus hygiene and environmental responsibility.
The ceremony reflected a growing sense of unity and collaboration between students and the university management, as newly admitted students joined in celebrating what was widely described as a new era of progressive leadership, discipline, and academic transformation at FUAHSE.
In his closing remarks following the presentation and donation by the Students’ Union Government under the leadership of Rt. Comr. Ugwuoti Marius Ikechukwu, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Emaimo, expressed profound appreciation to the Union leadership for what he described as their remarkable commitment, vision, and dedication to the welfare of students and the overall development of the institution.
