In the wake of the political realignment led by Peter Obi, Dr. John Nwokeabia has called on supporters and members transitioning into the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to abandon factional interests and embrace a unified front driven by humility, discipline, and grassroots commitment. In a strongly worded message to comrades, he emphasized that the movement’s entry into the NDC is not a negotiation for power or positions, but a total integration anchored on service, respect for existing party leadership, and a shared mission to secure victory
[Message from Dr John Nwokeabia]
Dear Comrades,
Following the recent political realignment by our principal, H.E. Peter Obi, and our collective transition to the NDC, it is time to channel our energy toward a singular, unified purpose.
To win Nigeria and Enugu State, we must move beyond the politics of "factions" and embrace the reality of a single, indivisible family.
To ensure our integration is seamless and reflects the vision of our principal, all members are directed to observe the following:
1. Total Integration and Selfless Service:
Our entry into the NDC is not a merger of two entities, but a complete and total surrender to the party’s existing structure. We are not here to negotiate for positions or struggle for "space." We are here to serve. Our strength lies in our ability to fold into the NDC completely, placing the party’s collective success above any individual or group expectation.
2. Respect for Existing Leadership
We recognize and respect the established leadership and "original members" of the NDC. They are not our rivals; they are our comrades. We must refrain from any act that suggests a "take-over" or a parallel structure. Any collaborative engagements occurring at the local level are strictly at the request of the NDC leadership as they identify areas where our combined strengths can best be utilized.
3. Diplomacy and Humility
The passion of our movement must be expressed through humility and hard work, not through power struggles. We must avoid inflammatory language or any conduct that could be interpreted as domination. We are here to build, not to disrupt.
4. Focus on the Grassroots
Our primary objective is to add value. Every action taken at the ward, local government, and state levels must be geared toward peace and growth. Direct your energy toward grassroots mobilization and preparing for the upcoming polls. Let our work speak for us.
Closing Statement
In line with the philosophy of H.E. Peter Obi, we move forward with no preconditions and no expectations other than the opportunity to save our country. By working hand-in-hand with our NDC comrades, we ensure that Enugu State becomes a beacon of political unity.Let us remain calm, remain focused, and trust the journey.
A New Nigeria is still POssible!
Dr John Nwokeabia
