A prominent chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Samson Chukwu Nnamani, popularly known as ODERA, has formally declared his ambition for the 2027 Enugu State governorship election after obtaining the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.
Speaking after completing the process, Nnamani described his declaration as the beginning of a collective mission to “reclaim Enugu State” and deliver people-focused governance. He emphasized his commitment to rebuilding public trust, strengthening institutions, and implementing policies that directly address citizens’ needs.
Party insiders suggest that Nnamani is strongly positioned to emerge as a consensus candidate, in line with the PDP’s tradition of fostering unity in key elections. If achieved, this could simplify the party’s primary process and consolidate internal support ahead of the general election.
The development has already sparked political interest across Enugu State, with analysts noting that a consensus candidacy could significantly influence early alignments within the PDP and shape the broader political landscape.
Meanwhile, supporters have intensified mobilization efforts, especially online, rallying behind the campaign slogan #Odera2027.
