...Council Chairman, Stakeholders, Party Supporters Declare Support for Gov. Mbah’s Reelection
It was a moment of political excitement and grassroots mobilization in Aku on March 31, 2026, as the Tomorrow Is Here Movement (THM), a foremost and vibrant support group of Peter Mbah, inaugurated its Local Government and Ward Coordinators in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area.
The event, held at Central School Primary School, Aku, recorded a massive turnout of party faithful, stakeholders, and supporters. The THM delegation, led by its President and Personal Assistant to the Governor, Tony Okonkwo, arrived in a long motorcade and was received by a jubilant crowd, including motorcycle and tricycle operators who escorted the entourage into the venue.
The ceremony commenced with the presentation of kolanut and opening prayer by Hon. Engr. Tochukwu Amuka, member representing Igbo-Etiti West Constituency.
In his opening remarks, the Igbo-Etiti LGA Coordinator of THM, Hon. Vitus Ekwueme, commended the leadership of the movement for effectively marketing the achievements of Governor Mbah and assured that the people of Igbo-Etiti would work diligently to secure his reelection in 2027.
Also speaking, the Zonal Coordinator of THM in Enugu North Senatorial Zone and SSA on Youth Mobilisation, Hon. Jude Amunabor, described Governor Mbah’s second term as non-negotiable, citing his impactful governance and developmental strides.
The APC Chairman in Igbo-Etiti LGA, Hon. Paul Okoro Ike, urged the people to reciprocate the Governor’s good governance, highlighting notable achievements including the facilitating the appointment of Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya from Igbo-Etiti LGA as the first indigenous Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
In his address, the Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA, Dr. Eric Ogbonna Odo, assured that the council would deliver overwhelming votes for Governor Mbah and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
In their separate goodwill messages, prominent stakeholders including Hon. Dr. Ogbons Idike, Chairman of Enugu State Forest Guard, Rtd. Col. Monday Didigwu, former Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA, Hon. Ignatius Ishienyi, Hon. Engr. Tochukwu Amuka, Engr. Chukwuebuka Ugwueke, Hon. Collins Ngwu, and others unanimously expressed strong support for Governor Mbah’s reelection, emphasizing that Igbo-Etiti has a strategic role in ensuring victory in Enugu North Senatorial Zone.
A key highlight of the event was the interactive question-and-answer session conducted by the Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly and Vice President of THM, Hon. Ezenta Ezeani. He commended the Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LGA for his support and applauded the commitment of the THM leadership, assuring that Igbo-Etiti would deliver massively for Governor Mbah.
Performing the inauguration, Hon. Tony Okonkwo charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to deepen grassroots sensitization and effectively communicate the Governor’s achievements across all wards.
