The National Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lady Dr. Anthonia Chinenyenwa Ogbu, has congratulated Nigerian women and members of the party’s women wing on the occasion of the 2026 International Women’s Day, commending their resilience and contributions to national development.
In a goodwill message issued to mark the global celebration, Ogbu praised the courage, strength, and determination of Nigerian women, noting that their roles in politics, governance, business, education, agriculture, and community service remain vital to the country’s progress.
She described the annual observance of International Women’s Day as an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of women while renewing commitments to inclusion, empowerment, and expanded opportunities for women and girls across Nigeria.
According to her, Nigerian women have continued to serve as the backbone of families, communities, and the democratic process, contributing significantly to nation building and social development.
The PDP National Woman Leader also commended women within the party for their dedication and leadership in strengthening democratic values and advancing the welfare of families nationwide.
Ogbu said the commitment and hard work of PDP women continue to inspire more women to participate actively in leadership and national development.
She urged women across the country to continue supporting one another, breaking barriers, and creating opportunities for the next generation of female leaders.
“Today we celebrate the resilience, determination, and invaluable impact of every Nigerian woman,” she stated, adding that their voices and leadership remain essential in building a stronger and more inclusive nation.
She further called for unity and collective action among women to sustain progress and empowerment across the country.
