BREAKING: Tinubu Appoints New Minister

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance, replacing Doris Uzoka-Anite. The appointment was disclosed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Uzoka-Anite has been redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State, marking her third portfolio in the current administration. President Tinubu has also forwarded Oyedele’s nomination to the Senate for confirmation in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Oyedele, an indigene of Ikaram in Akoko, Ondo State, previously served as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he played a key role in overhauling Nigeria’s tax system. A seasoned economist, accountant, and public policy expert, he spent 22 years at PwC, rising to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader.

He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology and a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. Oyedele also completed executive education programmes at the London School of Economics, Yale University, Harvard Kennedy School, and the Gordon Institute of Business Science. He currently serves as a professor at Babcock University and is a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
