A senior academic at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Prof. Owo Chinweuba, has strongly dismissed allegations questioning the authenticity of the degree certificate of Chief Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, describing them as baseless and politically motivated falsehoods. The professor affirmed that Chief Nnaji indeed graduated from UNN, noting that his name was duly forwarded by the institution to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for mobilisation, a process strictly reserved for verified graduates.

I urge all of us to ignore the pathological lie being peddled on the authenticity or otherwise of the degree certificate obtained by Chief Uche Nnaji, the Hon. Minister of science and technology .
Chief Uche Nnaji and my humble self were at the University of Nigeria Nsukka the same time, and I state unequivocally that he graduated from UNN. It is pertinent to note that it is the university that forwards the names of the students who graduated to the NYSC for mobilisation. If Nwakibeya did not graduate, UNN would not have forwarded his name for NYSC . It is indeed regrettable that some people choose to be funnelling to the public domain, such a mischievous and unfounded defamation of his character to achieve parochial interest. There should be a limit to impunity in the quest to attain political capital. Political actors should operate within the nexus of civility and decorum.
