Promise Fulfilled: Enugu East Council Boss, Performs Ground Breaking Ceremony at Ugbene

…Commissions Brand New 500 KVA Transformer at Alulu Nike community


The Enugu East Local Government Council, led by Engr. Pst. Beloved-Dan Obi Anike, has made significant strides in fulfilling its campaign promises. Over the weekend, the council boss performed a groundbreaking ceremony for a Type 1 Primary Healthcare (PHC) center at Ugbene 2, marking the third such facility under construction in the area.


This project demonstrates the administration's commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for its citizens. Mrs. Onyia Juliet, speaking on behalf of the women of Ugbene 2, expressed her joy and gratitude for the project, recalling that it was a major need highlighted during the 2024 electioneering campaign.


The CMD of ESUT Teaching Hospital, Prof. Bethrand Amaechi Ngwu, commended the Executive Chairman for his excellent leadership and the healthcare facilities provided in Umuenwene ward. Engr. Mascot Agbo, CEO of Masoch Construction, who is the project contractor, assured the council that the project would be completed timely and to a high standard.


Other stakeholders, including the PDP Chairman, Engr. Okey Igbokwe, Supervisor for Health, Hon. Mrs. Queendaline Ngwu, Supervisor for works; Hon. Friday Aniji, and Councilor Umuenwene ward, praised the Mayor's people-oriented leadership and commitment to keeping promises.


In his speech, the Executive Chairman reiterated that one of the cardinal objectives of his administration is "Inclusiveness," ensuring that every part of the local government area receives attention from the government. He lauded the State Government for the disruptive innovations being witnessed across all sectors in the State and stated that his administration's projects align with the State Government's vision.


The Mayor also informed the public that plans are underway to provide water for the healthcare facility, which will also benefit the community. This development has further restored public trust in governance, with many stakeholders expressing their appreciation for the Mayor's leadership style.


In a related development, the council commissioned a new 500 KVA transformer at Alulu Nike community, enhancing electricity supply and supporting the community's growth. The Traditional Ruler of Mbulu Owehe Nike, HRH Igwe Louis Nnamani, expressed gratitude to the council for the rural electrification project and assured the Mayor of the community's continued support.


The leader of the Enugu East Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Obumneme Obed Eke, appreciated the Mayor's leadership style and assured him of the legislative council's support in realizing his vision for Enugu East LGA. Other stakeholders, including the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Mrs. Queendaline Ngwu, and the Vice Chairman of PDP in Enugu East LGA, Hon. Prince Obinwanne Nnamani, also praised the Mayor's initiatives.


The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Chairman of Enugu East LGA, Engr. Kingsley Obinna Anike, the Secretary to Enugu East Local Government Council, Barr. Uche Mbaeke, the SPA Political, Hon. Bethrand Anike, and the SPA Special Duties; Hon. Obinna Ogbu, among others.
