The Enugu SME Center is proud to have sponsored the maiden edition of the Awakening Young Nigerian Entrepreneurs (AYNE) Conference, organized by the Student Entrepreneurs’ Club (SEC), University of Nigeria—an initiative of the AfriLED Foundation.
Representing the convener, Engr. Paschal Okeke, Nwachukwu Emmanuel expressed immense satisfaction with the conference's impact, which provided a transformative platform for leadership development, self-awareness, and entrepreneurial empowerment. Over 30 SEC members benefited from targeted training sessions and financial grants, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to thrive in today’s competitive business landscape.
With 75% of global youth lacking employability skills and Nigeria’s youth unemployment rate standing at over 30%, initiatives like AYNE, backed by the Enugu SME Center, are critical in bridging the skills gap and fostering job creation. This aligns seamlessly with Governor Peter Mbah’s ambitious vision to train over 40,000 young people annually in digital, technical, and entrepreneurial skills, ensuring that Enugu becomes a hub for innovation and economic growth.
Through strategic partnerships and forward-thinking interventions, the Enugu SME Center continues to champion youth empowerment, drive job creation, and foster an ecosystem where young entrepreneurs can thrive.
A huge thank you to all our partners, sponsors, and participants for making this a success! We are excited to see the impact and transformation this initiative will bring.
