...A Leader Beyond Politics, Committed to Humanity and Social Justice:
Hon. Chima Obieze is a politician of a different breed! To some, he is a politician with a heart of gold, and to others, he is a man of the people. And yet to many, he is an uncommon philanthropist who believes that the purpose of wealth is in the improvement of people's lives and the betterment of society. Whether old or young, male or female, rich or poor, Hon. Chima Obieze identifies with all and leaves no one in doubt of his commitment to helping humanity become their best and live out their dreams.
Many wonder how he's able to address different situations that call for his attention without any air of displaying class or social gaps with the people.
Little wonder therefore that in times of crisis, the one name on the lips of the people is Hon. Chima Obieze. His many interventions transcend his home State of Enugu to other parts of the country, thus placing him in the position to demonstrate his belief that true leadership rises above tribal, religious, ethnic or political considerations. He is a man who holds strongly that governance is and should always be about the people irrespective of their backgrounds and social status.
The list of family, communal, and constituency interventions that bear his name are too numerous to mention.
In one of his numerous interventions, Hon Chima Obieze offered himself as the bridge between Law Enforcement Officers and some protesting Nigerian youths. His timely intervention brought an abrupt end to the spate of destruction of properties, lootings, and carnage, which followed the violent protests in some parts of the state. Evidence abound of members of the public calling out Hon. Chima Obieze to intervene in a crisis situation between some youths and law enforcement officers. As a public spirited individual and influential community leader, after the Endsars protests, Hon. Chima Obieze was at the forefront in mobilizing youths across Enugu State to clean up the city and remove all the barricades on major streets in the State. He played a pivotal role in restoring confidence in the minds of the people. His singular contributions in restoring sanity and orderliness in the State remain a reference till date.
Beyond being a politician of a rare breed, Hon. Chima Obieze has never left anyone in doubt about his philanthropic nature. Not only does he still visit the homes of those who lost loved ones during the protests, he personally ensured the dead were given proper burials and till date, he takes responsibility for the training of each member of the deceased families by paying their tuition and many other fees in school.
The list goes on and on. Men in the mold of Hon. Chima Obieze, are indeed, a rare breed. Enugu State in particular and Nigeria in general is proud of his immense contribution to not only the development of Enugu State but Nigeria as a whole.
