Nsukka Mayor, Engr Jude Asogwa Chinedua, made a notable appearance at the 2024 Law Week/Dinner and Award Night, held at the Bar Centre, Nsukka, on December 6, 2024. During the event, he took the opportunity to commend the outstanding accomplishments of His Excellency, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, who is also a distinguished lawyer by profession.
Mayor Asogwa, who was sworn in as the Executive Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Council on September 30, 2024, highlighted the significant impact his administration has made so far. He recalled his first official move, which was to visit the Nsukka correctional center on October 1, 2024, to commemorate Nigeria's Independence Day. This visit had a profound effect on him, leading to his decision to establish a legal team for the Nsukka Local Government Council.
He also took the opportunity to discuss the various ongoing projects in the area, including the construction of the 1.6 km ring road in the GRA, Nsukka, which is noticeably visible from the Court premises, via the Police Station, Road Safety Office, and the Prisons.
Furthermore, Mayor Asogwa emphasized his ambitious goal to create a new generation of billionaires through the upcoming launch of the "Nsukka Tech Hub." This initiative aims to raise 200 successful entrepreneurs, thereby contributing to the economic growth and development of Nsukka and its environs.
Never to be left out is the borehole at Lejja; 500 Kva Transformer installed at Aku Road Market, Nsukka; Constituting the Markets Supervising Committee, where the two Bishops, from the Catholic and Anglican Diocese of Nsukka, Bishop Igwebuike Onah and Bishop Aloysius Agbo are co-chairmen; Reshuffling of the Neighbourhood Watch Square, bringing up capable security men (with clear records) from all the 52 Communities in Nsukka LGA.
Finally, Mayor Asogwa expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the lawyers for their continued cooperation and support. He assured them of his administration's commitment to fostering a spirit of mutual understanding and benefits, which will ultimately enhance the overall development of Nsukka Local Government Area.
