Hon. Anthony Chukwudi Nwankwo (JP), representing Awgu South Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, has congratulated Governor Peter Mbah on the successful commissioning of the Enugu State Geographic Information System (ENGIS). He described the initiative as a transformative milestone that will resolve long-standing issues such as land disputes, double allocations, and land grabbing while ensuring transparency and efficiency in land administration across Enugu State.
Hon. Anthony Nwankwo emphasized that the launch of ENGIS was made possible by the proactive role of the Enugu State House of Assembly, which earlier passed the Enugu State Geographic Information System Service Bill initiated by Governor Mbah’s administration. He commended the Governor for his visionary leadership in implementing the bill, noting that the system will simplify land title acquisition, eliminate revenue leakages, and create a business-friendly environment that aligns with the administration’s economic development goals.
The lawmaker praised the collaborative efforts of Governor Mbah’s team, including the Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Barr. Chimaobi Okorie, and the ENGIS Coordinator, Dr. Cyril Ezeama, for their hard work in ensuring the successful execution of the system. He expressed confidence that ENGIS will encourage investment, boost internally generated revenue, and bring lasting solutions to challenges that have hindered land administration in the state for decades.
Hon. Anthony Nwankwo reaffirmed his unwavering support for policies that promote good governance, equity, and sustainable growth. He urged Ndi Enugu to take advantage of the new system, which he believes will usher in a new era of peace, economic prosperity, and trust in governance. He further pledged to continue supporting initiatives that advance the welfare of his constituents and the entire state.
