The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially expelled its suspended National Vice Chairman for the South-East Zone, Ali Odefa, due to allegations of engaging in anti-party activities. This action comes after a disciplinary process that was initiated following Odefa's suspension on September 11, 2024.
A Federal High Court ruling on November 29, 2024, upheld Odefa’s suspension, thereby clearing the way for the party to make its final decision regarding his membership. Following this, the Oguduokwor Ward in Ebonyi State's Onicha Local Government Area carried out the expulsion. The ward's disciplinary committee, after reviewing the allegations against Odefa, recommended his expulsion, which was subsequently approved by the executive committee on December 11, 2024, in accordance with the PDP constitution.
As a result of this expulsion, Odefa’s membership in the PDP has been terminated. Further updates on the situation are expected.
