The delegates of Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Enugu State Chapter, recently paid a courtesy call to the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) office in Enugu, signaling a collaborative step toward empowering Enugu State youth through agricultural initiatives. The visit aimed to establish a synergy to enhance youth participation in livestock farming, a strategic sector that aligns with Enugu State’s goals of economic development and sustainable revenue growth.

During the interactive session, Dr. Ifeyinwa Elizabeth Nnadozie, the State Project Coordinator of L-PRES, presented the objectives of the project. She emphasized L-PRES’s commitment to supporting sustainable livestock practices and enhancing resilience in agriculture—a message that resonated with the Youth Assembly’s vision of youth empowerment.

The National Deputy Speaker of YAN assured L-PRES of the Youth Assembly’s support, underscoring their intention to encourage Enugu youth to engage fully in livestock farming. “This partnership will not only empower the youth but also contribute significantly to the revenue generation of Enugu State, aligning with the government’s economic aspirations,” he stated.

Ambassador-Elect Chidubem Ugwueze JP, representing YAN Enugu State Chapter, called upon L-PRESS to prioritize Enugu’s youth in their projects. He expressed optimism that such an approach would foster sustainable employment opportunities. “The Governor’s initiative to attract L-PRES to Enugu is commendable, and YAN is ready to champion its success for the benefit of Enugu State youths and the growth of Enugu’s economy,” he added.

The Speaker-Elect of the Assembly conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Enugu State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for facilitating the L-PRES initiative, recognizing it as a positive step toward economic transformation.

In closing, Ambassador Chidubem Ugwueze JP thanked L-PRES for their commitment to collaboration with YAN and extended his gratitude to Governor Mbah for bringing this vision to fruition. This partnership, he noted, would play a vital role in supporting Enugu’s youth, encouraging growth within the livestock sector, and enhancing the state's revenue base.
