Ezeagu L.G.A Chairman, Dr. Vita Ndu Hosts CGC Nigeria Limited Project Manager on Solidarity Visit.

In a clear demonstration of his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises, Dr. Vita Ndu, Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government Area, today welcomed Mr. Zhou Chien, the South East Regional Project Manager of CGC Nigeria Limited, a highly esteemed multinational company operating in Nigeria. During the visit, Dr. Ndu reaffirmed the long-standing relationship between the Council and the company, which dates back to 2012 when CGC Nigeria first established its construction yard at Ugwuakulu, Obelegu Umana. He expressed his gratitude for the company's continued support and the cordial relationship that has developed over time.

Mr. Zhou Chien, expressing delight at Dr. Ndu's recent election as Chairman, assured him of the company's continued collaboration and support for his administration.

Following the formal meeting, the Chairman, Project Manager, and other stakeholders proceeded to inspect the problematic section of the Ajali end of the Umumba Ndiuno-Aguoba-Umana Ndiagu Road II, currently under construction at no cost to both the Council and the state government. The intervention by CGC Nigeria on this road, despite pending financial claims for previous work, reflects their commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Ezeagu community, particularly as this stretch has become a hotspot for kidnappings.

Site Engineer, Engr. James Suleiman, provided an update on the construction, promising to open the repaired portion to motorists within 48 hours, following the completion of the stone base layer. He further assured that sand filling, stone basing, and asphalting would be finalized within a week.

Dr. Vita Ndu commended the speed and quality of the work, thanking the company for their generosity and dedication to improving the lives of Ndi Ezeagu. This initiative aligns closely with the "Future is Green" project of his administration, which seeks to enhance the wellbeing of the community.

The team also visited the uncompleted portion of the road at Orie Ezimezu, Umana Ndiagu, where the Project Manager pledged to begin work as soon as they finish at the Ajali section. Dr. Ndu expressed his gratitude for this additional commitment, recognizing the road's importance as a critical link to the home of Rt. Hon. Dr. Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi, who was instrumental in both securing the project and in bringing the company to Enugu State during his tenure as a lawmaker.

In addition, the inspection team reviewed the condition of the road from Aguobu Owa to Akama Oghe, which has been awarded by the state government for construction. Given the road’s significance to Ndi Ezeagu, particularly during the upcoming holiday season, the Chairman urged the Project Manager to provide temporary palliatives to ease travel. He also promised to engage the contractor to expedite work in anticipation of the increased traffic expected during the Christmas period.

This visit follows closely on the heels of a similar visit by a Vietnamese project management expert, underscoring Dr. Vita Ndu’s determination to transform the administration of Ezeagu Local Government Area. With the imminent completion of the Umumba Ndiuno-Aguoba-Umana Ndiagu Road, residents and commuters will soon enjoy an alternative route, significantly reducing travel time while enhancing safety and comfort.

Ndi Ezeagu, The Future is Green with Dr. Vita Ndu.
