The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of its South-East National Vice Chairman, Chief Ali Odefa, over allegations of anti-party activities. The announcement was made by the Ogudu Okwor Ward Executive Committee of the party in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Led by acting chairman Hebert Ovuta, the committee accused Odefa of actions detrimental to the party's reputation. Ovuta emphasized that the suspension was carried out in accordance with Section 57(3) of the PDP Constitution, which outlines procedures for disciplinary measures within the party.

“We are here to inform you of the resolution of the Ward Executive Committee of PDP Oguduokwor Ward to suspend Chief Ali Odefa, the National Vice Chairman of the PDP Southeast Zone, on the grounds of his anti-party activities and other offences which are destructive to the name of our dear party PDP," Ovuta stated.

Ovuta also disclosed that the case has been referred to the Ward Disciplinary Committee for further action. According to the PDP Constitution, the authority to discipline national officers of the party rests solely with the national leadership of the party.

The situation has raised concerns within party circles, as the disciplinary process moves forward.
