On Monday, the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area and Deputy Chairman of ALGON, Enugu State, Barr. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, embarked on an extensive tour of ongoing Smart School construction sites within the council area. The inspection covered three major sites located in Ovoko, Iheakpu-Awka, and Ibagwa-Aka, underscoring the Chairman's commitment to education and infrastructure development.

The Smart School projects are part of a larger initiative by the Enugu State Government aimed at transforming the educational landscape through the construction of modern, green school facilities. These schools are designed to provide students with a conducive learning environment, utilizing sustainable technologies for energy efficiency and environmental conservation.

Barr. Ukwueze, during the tour, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the construction work at each site. He commended the site engineers and contractors for their dedication and resilience in pushing forward with the projects, despite the various challenges they have faced. He noted that the commitment of the workers reflected the high standard of professionalism and the importance of the projects to the future of the region.

“I must commend the efforts of the engineers and contractors who have defied all imaginable odds to ensure that these projects are moving forward. Their dedication is a testament to the collective goal we share for a better tomorrow for our children,” Ukwueze said.

The Chairman attributed the rapid progress of the Smart School projects to the visionary leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. He praised the Governor's "Tomorrow is Here" agenda, which he believes is already yielding remarkable results across Enugu State.

“Governor Mbah’s administration is taking Enugu State to greater heights. In less than two years of his first tenure, we are already seeing an avalanche of projects and a quality of leadership that is second to none. The Smart School projects are a prime example of his commitment to educational reform and infrastructural development,” Ukwueze remarked.

He further urged the engineers and supervisors working on the projects to remain committed to their responsibilities, emphasizing the need to adhere to the state's stipulated timelines for project completion.

“I encourage you all to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ensure that the projects are completed within the given timeframe. Our future generations depend on the success of these initiatives,” Ukwueze advised.

In addition to the site inspections, Barr. Ukwueze expressed his satisfaction with the peaceful atmosphere in the communities he visited, noting that the residents were going about their daily activities without any disruption. He attributed this calmness to the strong security measures his administration has put in place.

“I am delighted by the level of calmness in all the areas we visited today. The people are conducting their business activities, contributing to the economic growth of our local government. Rest assured that my administration will continue to prioritize the security of life and property, which is the cornerstone of our ‘Progress Agenda,’” he added.

Following the tour, Barr. Ukwueze paid a courtesy visit to his neighboring colleague, the Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, Hon. Aka Eze Aka. The two leaders engaged in fruitful discussions, sharing leadership experiences and exploring potential areas for collaboration between their local governments.

The visit served as an opportunity for both chairmen to strengthen the bond between their LGAs and reaffirm their shared commitment to good governance and sustainable development.

Barr. Ukwueze’s inspection of the Smart School projects highlights his unwavering dedication to improving the educational infrastructure in Igbo-Eze South LGA. As the projects near completion, they are expected to enhance the quality of education and contribute to the overall development of the local government area.
