Enugu State Auda-Nepad Office & NEPC Partner to Train Smallholder Farmers in Enugu North on Good Agricultural Practices, Distribute Potato Slips


The Enugu state Auda-Nepad office in collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) South-East Regional Office organized a one-day capacity building programme on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for smallholder farmers in Enugu North Senatorial Zone at Jucony Hotel, Nsukka with the sub-theme: “Getting it right from the farm-gate to grow non-oil exports”.


Participating farmers were drawn from the 6 LGAs in Enugu North Senatorial zone. Session after session, resource persons marshaled out strategies that would be of great help to the farmers. 


At the end of the programme, the farmers were given potatoes slips for onward planting in their farms. The capacity building programme will take place at the other senatorial zones at a later date.


Our special appreciation goes to His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu state for his consistent support to the smallholder farmers in the state, we also thank the Regional Coordinator, NEPC South-East Mr. McPherson Fred-Iloegben, the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture & Agro-Industrialization, Hon. Patrick Ubru, the state coordinator Auda-Nepad, Engr. Onyinye Akubuilo-Okpalanma, the Chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Enugu chapter, Mr. Eze and staff of the Enugu state Auda-Nepad office.
