NCYT Congratulates WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on Her 70th Birthday


The National Centre for Youth Transformation (NCYT), a prominent Nigerian youth-based organization, has extended its warm congratulations to the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on the occasion of her 70th birthday.


In a heartfelt statement, Hon. Emmanuel Arinze Ezeh, the Global President of NCYT and former Special Assistant to the Former Governor of Enugu State, expressed joy and admiration for the remarkable leader and her family. "We rejoice with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a beacon of excellence and a paragon of dedication, as she celebrates this milestone. Her unwavering commitment to service and her significant contributions to national and global economic resilience are truly commendable," Ezeh remarked.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, GCON, a Nigerian-American economist of international repute, has been at the helm of the World Trade Organization since March 2021. Her leadership at the WTO has been marked by a focus on inclusive trade policies, transparency, and fostering global economic cooperation. Prior to her current role, she served two terms as Nigeria's finance minister and also held the position of managing director at the World Bank, where she was pivotal in various global economic initiatives.
