The people of Enugu State are cordially invited to partake in a historic event marking a new era of traditional leadership. His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr. Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu, the Ogadagidi of Edemani Ogwugwu Ancient Kingdom, will be formally inaugurated as the Chairman of the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council.
The grand inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, 27th May 2024, at the House of Chiefs, located within the Enugu State House of Assembly. The event will commence promptly at 2:00 PM.
Following the formal proceedings, a reception will be held to celebrate this significant occasion. The reception will be hosted at Nicholes Place and Events Center, situated at No 1 High Chief Sam Asadu Close, Trans Ekulu Flyover bypass, GRA Enugu State. All attendees are invited to join in the festivities immediately after the inauguration ceremony.

The path to this inauguration began on the 29th of March 2024, when Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah approved the reconstitution of the Enugu Traditional Rulers Council. This reconstitution led to the appointment of HRM Igwe Dr. Samuel Asadu as the Chairman of the Council. The leadership team also includes:
1. Julius Nnaji as the First Deputy Chairperson,
2. G. N. Madu as the Second Deputy Chairperson,
3. Hebert Ukuta as the Third Deputy Chairperson.
Additionally, several distinguished individuals have been appointed as grand patrons to support the Council's mission. These appointees are:
1. Fidelis Nwatu as the Grand Patron,
2. Abel Nwobodo as the First Grand Patron,
3. Augustine Otiji as the Second Grand Patron,
4. H. C. Eze as the Third Grand Patron.
This new assembly of traditional leaders is expected to bring a renewed vigor and vision to the traditional governance and cultural preservation within Enugu State.
