Sanitation Exercises Holds Tomorrow in Enugu, 27th April, Offenders to Face Prosecution Says ESWAMA

The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has issued a stern warning to residents ahead of the sanitation exercise scheduled for Saturday, 27th April, 2024. According to ESWAMA, residents found engaging in any unauthorized movement within the metropolis during the exercise will face arrest and prosecution in the environmental mobile court of law.

The exercise, which is slated to hold between the hours of 7 am and 10 am, aims to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents of Enugu State. In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Wastes, Andreas Gebauer, residents were urged to fully cooperate with ESWAMA officials during the exercise.

"Residents are advised to refrain from any form of movement within the metropolis during the sanitation exercise, except for those on essential services," Gebauer emphasized. He further stated that individuals on essential duties must provide a valid means of identification or ESWAMA's official pass to be allowed movement during the exercise.

Gebauer also called on residents to properly bag their wastes before disposal, urging them to ensure that they have paid their ESWAMA bills at any of the commercial banks close to them. He encouraged those engaging in sporting activities around Okpara Square and other locations to postpone their activities and join in the clean-up exercise.

ESWAMA's signature slogan, 'A Cleaner Tomorrow Today', underscores the commitment of the Enugu State government to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents.
