HUMANITY-2024-27: Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's Surgery Programme save a 73 -Year-Old Woman with Bilateral Femoral Hernia

The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, championed by the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, saved the life of a 73-year-old woman suffering from Bilateral Femoral Hernia in a surgical intervention that took place on the 9th of April, 2024, at the Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital in Nsukka, marking the programme's 27th series in its 2024 schedule. Alongside this courageous woman, three other beneficiaries also received life-changing surgeries, each with their unique medical challenges.

The septuagenarian plagued with bilateral femoral hernia and three others with different surgical conditions restored by the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme during their latest free surgical exercise, testified of their circumstances and the intervention into their cases;

                                EZE COSTACIA 

Hailing from Ekwegbe in Igbo-etiti LGA, Eze Costacia (contact: 07046632524) faced the daunting challenge of multiple breast lumps. Thanks to the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, she underwent a lumpectomy, a procedure that offered relief and hope for a healthier future. Eze Costacia expressed her gratitude to His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his unwavering support and to the medical team for their skill and dedication, stating, "I am deeply grateful to His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his kindness and to the medical team for their exceptional care. They have given me a new lease on life."

                         EGBUGO EJIKE 

Egbugo Ejike (contact: 07036415741), a resident of Nsukka LGA, confronted a significant obstacle in the form of a giant growth on his head. With the skilled intervention of the medical team, the growth was successfully removed, paving the way for a renewed lease on life. Ejike extended his appreciation to His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, saying, "I am grateful to His Excellency for providing this life-saving opportunity. The medical team's dedication and expertise are truly commendable, and I am thankful for their care."


                       MRS. CORDELIA EZE 

73-year-old, Mrs. Cordelia Eze (contact: 08065100469), from Eroh in Nsukka LGA, battled with bilateral femoral hernia, a condition that threatened her well-being. Through herniorrhaphy, she found relief from her ailment, thanks to the dedication and expertise of the surgical team. Mrs. Cordelia Eze expressed her gratitude, stating, "I extend my heartfelt thanks to His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his compassionate leadership and to the medical team for their skillful care. They have restored my health and my hope for the future."


                  EBUBENNANNA NNAMANI
 

Even the youngest members of the community benefit from the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme. Ebubennanna Nnamani (contact: 08062174854), a two-year-old from Orba in Udenu LGA, faced the challenge of left hydrocele of the cord. Through timely intervention, the medical team provided the necessary care for his recovery. Ebubennanna's parents expressed their appreciation, stating, "We are grateful to His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for this invaluable assistance. The medical team's expertise and compassion have given our child a chance for a healthy future."

Dr. George Ajogwu, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, extended heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support. Dr. Ajogwu emphasized that the former governor's commitment to sustaining the programme reflects his deep love for the people of Enugu State and his genuine support for the current administration led by His Excellency, Barr Peter Mbah, and His Deputy, His Excellency, Barr Ifeanyi Ossai.
