
Today, Enugu State celebrate the 65th birthday of one of its distinguished son and former Governor, His Excellency Barr. Sullivan Chime.
Born on April 10, 1959, Sullivan Iheanacho Chime's journey into politics was marked by determination and service to his people. Elected governor of Enugu State in April 2007 under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he officially assumed office on May 29, 2007. His tenure was marked by significant achievements and transformative policies that elevated the state to new heights of development.
During his time in office, Governor Chime led various infrastructural projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for Enugu residents. His administration prioritized security, healthcare, education, infrastructure, tourism and transportation, resulting in tangible improvements across the board. From construction of modern hospitals and schools to the rehabilitation of roads, Chime's vision for Enugu was one of progress and prosperity.
Sullivan Chime's commitment to good governance and accountability earned him widespread acclaim both within and outside Enugu State. His transparent leadership style and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people endeared him to many, earning him a reputation as a statesman of integrity.
Beyond his political career, Sullivan Chime is also celebrated for his role as a devoted family man. He is blessed with five children: Adaora Onyinye (Chime) Chukwu, Nnamdi Elias Chime, Tochukwu Arinze Chime, Ezinne Ekpeluchi (Chime) Nnamani, and Ugomsinachi Daniel Chime. His dedication to his family mirrors his commitment to serving the people of Enugu, embodying the values of responsibility and compassion.
