This recognition by ATQNews and Travellers Magazine, the foremost travel magazine in West Africa, is a testament to their exceptional leadership and innovation in the travel and tourism industry.
The initiative, now in its fourth year, aims to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the tourism sector in Nigeria. Their dedication has not only aligned with the country's tourism goals but has also fostered collaboration among stakeholders nationwide.
As distinguished members of the Top 100 Tourism Personalities in Nigeria, they have been officially inducted into the esteemed Tourism 100 Club by Travellers Magazine. Additionally, Certificates of Recognition (COR) have been awarded, authorizing the use of the Tourism 100 Club Logo on their official correspondences.
Enugu State had previously emerged as the most active tourism state in Nigeria for the year 2023. This recognition came as a result of the state's vigorous efforts in driving and sustaining domestic tourism. Enugu State's commitment to promoting the tourism industry was highlighted by its organization of the World Tourism Day event and the vibrant Enugu Carnival held in December, coupled with robust policy positions.
The award ceremony took place at the Special Edition of the 10th Wonders of Nigeria Expo on April 18th-19th, 2024, at the National Museum, Onikan, Lagos State. This event served as a platform to celebrate Nigeria's rich cultural heritage and address pertinent issues within the tourism sector.
